What we are: A home for a new generation of innovators
Thinkery Camp programs provide a creative, safe and challenging environment for campers to expand their problem solving potential and have a whole lot of fun. Children ages pre-K through 5th grade engage in playful learning experiences to develop critical thinking skills in a collaborative environment.
What we do: Spark curiosity and inspire creative learning
Thinkery camps offer hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) as a platform for innovation. Each week-long program offers a variety of fun mental and physical challenges that activate campers’ creativity. Campers answer their questions of “how” and “why” through interactive experiences designed to keep them exploring, creating and moving.
Campers are divided into the following age groups in order to provide the most developmentally appropriate environment for them to learn, grow and play. We have designed our Thinkery camp themes to grow with our campers. Although the weekly theme is the same for the whole family, activities and content are differentiated for each age group. As campers get older they dive deeper into STEAM principles and tackle more complex challenges and materials.

Curious pre-K and Kindergarten campers receive structure and guidance as we nurture the innovative minds they already possess. Enticing projects and activities offer little learners problem solving practice and opportunities for group collaboration. Pre-K through Kindergarten camps are half-day sessions; choose either morning, 8:30 am-12 pm, or afternoon, 12:30-4 pm.
Campers entering 1st or 2nd grade begin to stretch their wings by testing out new abilities. Budding innovators look beyond what is seen and explore how things work. Inquiry-based learning and a focus on the design process drive campers’ discovery of STEAM concepts. These campers enjoy a full day program and experience science in action through field trips and speakers.
Campers entering 3rd, 4th or 5th grade delve deeper into the Thinkery experience through more advanced tools and multi-day challenges. Campers team up to perfect every phase of the design process and tackle the world’s emerging problems. These campers have the opportunity to meet and learn from innovators in Austin and discover how science answers questions through field trips and speakers.
