Programs
Learn more about Thinkery’s in-person programming for audiences of all ages!
Some Thinkery programming is currently suspended due to COVID-19.
Thinkery’s foremost priority is the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and the greater Austin community. While we are able to open for regular General Admission sessions, many of our separately-ticketed programs and events remain suspended indefinitely.
We look forward to the resumption of our regular programming once it is safe to do so. In the meantime, you can enjoy these popular Thinkery programs in-person or online.
Community Hours
Each week, Thinkery opens our doors for children and families to explore our exhibits for admission is FREE, but donations are welcomed.
Community Hours is part of Thinkery’s Open Door Initiative, created to give every child a chance to explore STEAM concepts and develop a lifelong love of learning, regardless of means.

Baby Bloomers
Baby Bloomers is a special program during which the museum is open exclusively for visitors ages 0–3 years and their families.
STEAM Week!
During Thinkery’s STEAM Weeks, we celebrate the seasons through play-based STEAM learning with a thematic twist.

Community Spotlights
This monthly event series presents performances and educational activities celebrating a different aspect of the rich diversity that makes Austin a fantastic place to live, play and learn.

Sensory Friendly Hours
Sensory Friendly Hours are when learners with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other special needs can explore, experience, and discover Thinkery in a quieter and less-crowded environment.
C.R.E.A.T.E.
C.R.E.A.T.E. (Collaboration to Realize Equity and Teach Engineering) is designed to inspire and prepare a diverse pipeline of future engineers through afterschool engineering education, youth development programming, and family engagement.
