Rube Goldberg 2020
Saturday, February 29 | 11:30 am—4 pm
Thinkery will host a 2020 Regional Rube Goldberg Machine Contest® on Saturday, February 29.
A Rube Goldberg Machine Contest (RGMC) is an event where teams of students compete with machines they have imagined, designed and created in a fun and competitive forum. The competitions encourage teamwork and out-of-the-box problem solving, in a fresh learning environment and level playing field. All you need is a good imagination and a pile of junk!
We will have four teams competing in the Division Apprentice (ages 8—11) for the Regional title. The winning team will qualify to compete in the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest Finals.
- 11:30 am: Teams begin building their machines
- 1:30 pm: Judging begins; each team will demonstrate their machines for the judges (and public) twice
- 3:30 pm: Awards ceremony/winners announced
Come check out the amazing machines our four teams of young inventors assemble, presented by Austin Energy!
Competition activities are FREE with General Admission .
