Any group traveling by bus or with more than 10 students must schedule a visit in advance. We cannot guarantee admission for groups without reservations. Reserve a visit by submitting a request form below.

Thinkery Field Trips are an opportunity to provide a powerful, hands-on experience for students, teachers and chaperones that is driven by a strong learning agenda rooted in play-based, inquiry-driven experiences. Our field trips empower students using a “self-guided exploration” model.  Every 8 students are assigned a school-provided chaperone, then we “hand the reins” to the students to explore the ENTIRE museum at their own pace and following their own interests.

Field Trips include access to all museum galleries, plus special STEAM demonstrations and Thinkery-facilitated hands-on activities that are designed to connect back to classroom learning objectives. So no matter when your class visits, your students will have hands-on STEAM experiences that reinforce and build upon current classroom learning. Throughout your visit, our skilled education team actively interacts with students and chaperones to inspire creativity, curiosity and discoveries.

Galleries and activities are aligned to Texas Education Agency guidelines for Pre-K–5th grade. A typical visit is 1.5 hours. Please note, due to capacity, Let’s Grow may not be available in the summer.

For a safe and comfortable experience during the summer, we require 1 adult chaperone for every 8 students; chaperones within the 1:8 ratio will receive complimentary admission. Additional chaperones (more than 1:8) and siblings will be charged $10 each and will purchase admission on the day of the visit.

We will begin accepting requests for Summer Field Trips on February 10, 2020.
