Autism Society of Texas will provide materials, telescope, and eclipse glasses to William’s School- a small school in Austin dedicated to providing individualized education and supports to children with Autism and other developmental disabilities in a nurturing and therapeutic environment. William’s School students will utilize social narratives and tools to be prepared to view the eclipse.
This is a private event.
The Autism Society of Texas created tip sheets and social narratives for the public to make eclipse activities and events more understandable and enjoyable for Autistic youth, or any children who may feel anxious or nervous about the eclipse. The materials help to make viewing the eclipse more inclusive and Autism-friendly. Stories and parent tips are available in English & Spanish at our website: https://www.texasautismsociety.org/2024-solar-eclipse-resources/
