Birthday Party Information
How many people are included in the price of my birthday party?
The Birthday Party room can accommodate 25 people total, including adults and children. Any additional guest will be required to purchase admission to the museum and will not be admitted into the party room, as per fire code regulations.
Can we bring outside entertainment for the party?
If you are interested in a party with additional entertainment, please consider a facility rental. The host family is welcome to bring their own activities; parents are responsible for setting up and running their activities.
When can the host family arrive to set up the party room?
Hosts may enter the party room 10 minutes in advance to check in with the party support staff and set up and decorations. A cart will be provided to carry party items in from your car and to stow items before or after your party time. The cart will remain in a private locked space when not in use for the party.
What should I wear to the party?
Thinkery encourages hands-on exploration. When choosing that special outfit for the big celebration, we hope you will select shoes and clothes with the goal to feel comfortable investigating the various materials you may encounter at our interactive museum and party. Please know there are exciting opportunities to climb on our Climber in Our Backyard, get wet in our Currents exhibit, we even hope you might get on your hands and knees building and creating in many of our other exhibits.
Thinkery will supply the Host Family with an RSVP link to distribute to all party guests. On the day of the party, guests will check in at Admissions with the birthday child’s name. Our staff will direct you to the correct party location. Ensure registered guests receive a color-coded wristband, which is their admission to the museum.
How do party guests RSVP for my event?
Thinkery will supply the Party Host with a link to an online RSVP page to distribute to all party guests. Guests should complete the RSVP no later than noon on the Friday before the date of the party.
Guests who have completed the online RSVP will enjoy an expedited check in process on the day of the party. Once they’ve checked in, your party guests will receive a color-coded wristband which is their admission to both the museum and into the private party room. Guests who have not completed their RSVP may not receive a wristband and may have to pay their own admission fees.
When should guests arrive?
To be sure that guests don’t miss out on any of the fun, we encourage you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the party start time. Early party guests can enjoy playing in the museum until the party starts.
Can we bring cake and other foods?
You are welcome to bring in your own snacks and cake. Thinkery does not provide food service.
Do I need to clean up afterward?
We’ll take care of it for you! Thinkery staff remove trash, clear tables, sweep, and wipe the room after your celebration. Of course, we appreciate any assistance you can offer in maintaining a clean atmosphere.
Can I bring balloons in the museum?
We do allow balloons.
Can we have open flames in the party room?
Thinkery fire safety regulations prohibit the use of open flame Sternos in party rooms. Birthday candles on cakes are allowed, but must be supervised by Thinkery staff. Trick candles of any kind are prohibited.
Is alcohol permitted for parents at birthday parties?
No. Alcohol consumption is not allowed anywhere on the premises during regular operating hours.
