Earth Day is Friday, April 22. Celebrate our planet’s special day with fun-filled, family-friendly activities at Thinkery!
Now entering its 46th year, Earth Day is a global movement to make big, amazing things happen. It’s a day dedicated to bringing much-needed attention to Earth, and to our environment. It’s a day of encouraging mindfulness, igniting passion and inspiring people—both young and old—to make a difference.
Naturally, Thinkery’s daylong celebration is chock-full of educational fun for the entire family. On Earth Day, Thinkery’s littlest learners will enjoy an entertaining Earth Day-themed story time, and will sort trash, compostable materials and recyclable items in an interactive sensory bin activity. In Innovators’ Workshop, children will learn all about alternative energies and construct hydraulic, eco-friendly structures. Drop by Kitchen Lab to discuss food growth and build biodegradable planting pots out of newspaper. Once assembled, visitors are invited to fill their paper pots with soil and select a seed to later plant at home.
The world we live in is a precious place, and it’s up to us to make a lasting, positive impact. A commitment to our planet is a commitment to our future, and that is why it’s so important to encourage this understanding at an early age.
Your child can, and will, make a difference. Join us Friday, April 22 as we celebrate Earth Day at Thinkery!
