Thinkery – Del Valle
Community listening has been a key part of the design process for the learning experiences featured in Thinkery — Del Valle. While this new neighborhood museum is true to Thinkery’s hands-on, play-based STEAM-learning approach, the space feels uniquely Del Valle!
Thinkery — Del Valle features three distinct STEAM-learning galleries, two playscapes, an indoor learning lab, and an outdoor classroom.
Declan’s Garden
Named after the Del Valle Child Development Center’s beloved mascot, Declan the Dragon, this gallery space explores cause and effect. Whether you are watching how air moves different-sized objects through Pneumatic Tubes or making the gears turn in Flower Tower, this gallery is all about seeing how things work!
El Parque
With everything you need for your next cookout, imaginative play takes center stage in El Parque! This gallery space includes a tree adorned with papel picado and a paleta cart, both featuring designs by local Del Valle students.
Sustainable Springs
Learn how the wind, sun, and water can become power sources in Sustainable Springs. This gallery space explores renewable energy and features a working waterfall called Del Valle Springs!
