    Volunteen Guest Post: How to Be a Robot

    This week on the blog, our Volunteens are celebrating all sorts of creative ideas for the Halloween season! Today, Volunteens Emma Jane, April and Annabella are showing us how to make a quick and easy robot costume, for all your roboting needs! 

    Materials

    • 1 cardboard box (torso sized)
    • String
    • Buttons
    • Hot glue
    • Paper towel rolls
    • Silver paint [optional]
    • Aluminum foil
    • Face paint [optional]

    Directions

    Step 1: Pull cardboard box over body.

    Step 2: Stab holes in cardboard box flaps and pull string through. Attach accordingly.

    Step 3: Cut down the middle of cardboard paper towel rolls.

    Step 4: Tape cardboard paper towels on jeans/leggings. Attach accordingly.

    Step 5: Tape cardboard paper towels on long-sleeved shirt arms. Attach accordingly. (OPTIONAL: Paint all cardboard silver!)

    Step 6: Heat up hot glue and apply to buttons.

    Step 7: Glue buttons onto cardboard torso in a suitable design for your robot.

    Step 8: Fold aluminum foil into antenna shapes preferable to you. If you want, you can even apply silver face paint all over face.
