Baby Bloomers

Toddlers take over the museum.

Members: $3 each
Non-Members: $5 each
Mondays: 9 am–12 pm and Saturdays: 9–10 am

Baby Bloomers is a specially designed program where the museum is open just for visitors age 0–3 years and their families! It provides caregivers and early learners the opportunity to experience Thinkery together in an environment focused solely on them. Monthly themes and special guests engage our youngest visitors in fun explorations and learning through play. In addition to story time and other guided experiences, free-play is encouraged in museum galleries that support the social, emotional and cognitive development of our earliest learners.

Please note, Saturdays are limited to the second level of the museum, which includes Let’s Grow, Story Nook and Currents.

This month we’re highlighting Currents and invite you to splish, splash and explore the wonders of water. Join us each week to try something new or build on the previous week’s activities!

On Mondays (1st and 2nd floor open):

Currents – Explore watery science you can see, feel and hear. Make music with our singing bowls or find your rhythm with the drip beats. Investigate gravity with the splash buckets, chutes and channels.

Mini Maker Lab – Explore materials that sink and float, make color-changing concoctions by mixing liquids or attempt to make a bubble as big as you.

Light Lab – Make a glowing underwater scene on our Light Peg Wall. What happens when you shine light through water, oil or other liquids?

Innovators’ Workshop – Explore gravity as we use a dripping technique at Paint Wall. Make a water-inspired movie at Animation Station.

Springs – Build a boat and set it sailing. Build a fountain and listen to it trickle. Follow a school of fish and catch one if you can.

Story Nook – Curl up on a pillow and share a story all about water.

Move Studio – Pretend to be a water droplet falling from a cloud or splashing on the beach in a giant wave.
