Summer is here and so are Thinkery Camps!
This week, campers honed their creative skills in our Once Upon a Design and Designing Tomorrow themed camps. In Once Upon a Design, campers embarked on an enchanting journey of exploration and design connecting science, art and technology with fairy tale favorites. In Designing Tomorrow, 3rd–5th grade campers explored how technologies like littleBits, 3D modeling and scratch programming help us develop new products, applications and solutions for the future.
Take a look at everything our campers explored and experienced this week at Thinkery.
Once Upon a Design: Pre-K–Kindergarten
Our Pre-K–K campers enjoyed story time, museum exploration, move activities and design challenges. They loved exploring our interactive engineering stations and designing structures to protect fairy tale characters.
Once Upon a Design: 1st–2nd Grade
Our enthusiastic 1st–2nd grade campers participated in engineering stations, structural design challenges and fun demos inspired by fairy tales. The campers loved the Potions Lab, where they moved through stations to explore the chemical reactions behind mixing different substances.
Once Upon a Design: 3rd–5th Grade
Our 3rd–5th grade campers explored design, stop motion, ozobots, solar power bugs and more. They even took a field trip to the TSTV Station!
Our 1st–2nd and 3rd–5th grade campers loved their breathtaking hot air balloon demonstration, which continued the conversation of looking at storybook problems from an engineer’s perspective.
Designing Tomorrow: 3rd–5th Grade
Our Designing Tomorrow campers had a blast exploring tower construction, circuitry, flipbooks, robotics, ozobots, and a series of challenges and move activities. Campers worked in teams to program their very own robots!
