Partnering to C.R.E.A.T.E. a Pipeline of Local STEM Talent
C.R.E.A.T.E. (Collaboration to Realize Equity and Teach Engineering) is a collaboration between Austin-based technology company, NI, and two Austin-area nonprofits, Thinkery and Boys and Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. Our goal? Inspire and prepare a diverse pipeline of future engineers. We have a lot to share – what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how they’re leveraging the always evolving and rapid innovation in technology to drive interactive engineering design experiences for local young learners from often underrepresented and underestimated groups throughout Austin.
Speakers: Shaleiah Fox, Chief Campaign Officer, Thinkery, Katherine Prath, NI, Dena de la Paz, Thinkery, Mario Zambrano, Interim CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area
Creativity as the Durable Skill that AI Can’t Replace.
The role that AI plays in education is the topic de jour these days. If we get it right, AI has the power to revolutionize how children learn. But if we get it wrong, our children’s creativity – their ability to innovate, think critically and problem solve – is at risk. Creativity is a durable skill that AI cannot replace. This cross-industry panel will explore the role that we all play – from educators to executives to caregivers – in nurturing children’s innate creativity so that they thrive today and in the future.
Speakers: Andy Bell, CEO, Thinkery, Dr. Jonelle Bradshaw de Hernandez, University of Texas Austin, Harold Hughes, Founder & CEO, Bandwagon, Dr. Annette Tielle, Superintendent, Del Valle Independent School District
