We believe in our volunteers. We believe in their impact. We truly believe they make a difference. And that’s because they do—their time, service and commitment is crucial to Thinkery’s success.
Here on the Thinkery blog, we love highlighting the fantastic work and contributions put forth by our incredible roster of volunteers, VolunTeens and interns. Today, we’re celebrating The Junior League of Austin and Jill R.
It’s not even Thanksgiving and we’re already feeling thankful. Oh, who are we kidding? We’re always thankful for our amazing volunteers! From individual volunteers manning Thinkery special events to large groups helping prep seasonal programs, we are beyond grateful for everyone’s generous efforts.
One group that we can consistently count on is The Junior League of Austin, a women’s service organization that promotes volunteerism and community improvement through effective action. They’re serious about their commitment to the greater Austin area—and to Thinkery!
In the 2015–2016 year alone, The Junior League of Austin contributed more than 800 hours of service—time spent supporting Thinkery exhibits, assisting in Thinkery Camps and completing The Junior League of Austin Done-In-A-Day projects. They even volunteered at Maker Faire Austin 2016! As you can imagine, we’re thrilled that Thinkery is one of the many organizations that The Junior League of Austin supports.
We’ve also met so many amazing women through The Junior League of Austin—including Jill R., a volunteer who’s been with Thinkery since August 2015. Jill, who can most likely be found in Kitchen Lab, provides exemplary exhibit support during each and every one of her volunteer shifts. Jill is dedicated, dependable and enthusiastic—traits that make her a truly fantastic volunteer and a fabulous person.
Thank you, Jill, for all that you do. In sharing your time, your talents and your enthusiasm with Thinkery, you enrich and enhance the museum experience for our visitors. We are so thankful for you.
