We believe in our volunteers. We believe in their impact. We truly believe they make a difference—and that’s because they do.
When volunteers dedicate their time and talents to Thinkery, they help enrich and enhance the museum experience for our visitors. You might find a volunteer helping prep much-needed materials for an upcoming Thinkery Camp. Other times, you can find them engaging and facilitating on the floor in our gallery spaces. What about our seasonal Gingerbread Workshops? Yep, our amazing volunteers are always there. There’s no doubt about it—their service and commitment are vital to Thinkery’s success, and we can’t imagine the museum without ‘em!
Here on the Thinkery blog, we love showcasing all the amazing work from volunteer groups, VolunTeens and interns. Today, we’re highlighting The Junior League of Austin, a diverse group of dedicated women whose mission is to make Austin a better place. The nonprofit organization promotes community improvement through volunteerism, and its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. They’re serious about their commitment to the greater Austin area—and to Thinkery!
We just wrapped up our 2016–17 placement year with The Junior League of Austin, and we couldn’t be more grateful. In the last year, Junior League volunteers contributed more than 629 hours of service! JLA volunteers helped in our summer camps, as well as in our gallery spaces. As you can imagine, we’re thrilled that Thinkery is one of the many organizations that The Junior League of Austin supports.
Our Junior League of Austin volunteers are friendly, professional, engaging, dedicated and reliable. The new placement year is beginning this summer, and we are fortunate to welcome a whole new cohort of fantastic volunteers from The Junior League of Austin.
We’re so thankful for our partnership with this important Austin institution!
