Get to know this week’s Wonder Women in STEAM, Col. Joanne E. MacGregor!
Col. Joanne E. MacGregor currently serves as the Chief of Staff for Texas Army National Guard.
Throughout her 27 year career, she served in various tactical, operational and strategic level assignments in the Texas National Guard. As a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot, she commanded an aviation battalion during a deployment to Iraq in 2009, her battalion to fly over 1500 missions moving Soldiers and equipment while providing no-notice immediate response aeromedical evacuation support throughout Multi-National Corps-Iraq’s area of operations. She served as an Instructor Pilot Supervisor at the Austin Army Aviation Support Facility where she performed multiple fire and flood relief missions across Texas, participated in recovery efforts of the Space Shuttle Columbia, and flew support missions during Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, she held positions in Government Affairs, Public Affairs, and was the Recruiting and Retention Battalion Commander responsible for all Army National Guard recruiting and retention in Texas.
Joanne holds a Masters of Business Administration from University of Incarnate Word and received a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies while attending the Air Force War College in Montgomery, AL.
