Exploring STEAM — Thinkery Style! 

This summer, Thinkery is bringing you STEAM Sundays, a five-week series where each Sunday celebrates a different part of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Families can enjoy themed Story Times, and hands-on pop-up activities all inspired by the day’s focus and included with General Admission. 

Each Sunday offers something new, with opportunities to connect with STEAM experts, making it the perfect way to spark curiosity and keep summer play fresh and exciting.

Science Day — Sunday, July 6 

Kick off with a fossil-fueled adventure! The Texas Science & Natural History Museum will be onsite from 10 am–12 pm with Ice Age mammal models, a mammoth craft, and a cast of a real mammoth tooth. Dig into Texas’s prehistoric past and uncover ancient wonders! 

Technology Day — Sunday, July 13 

From circuits to code, explore how technology powers our world through hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity! Design your own dancing Scribble Bot, remix sounds with Synth-a-settes, and dive into innovation with tech-themed Story Times throughout the day. It’s a high-energy celebration of all things digital, electric, and imaginative! 

Engineering Day — Sunday, July 20 

Put your problem-solving skills to the test with a day full of building, tinkering, and discovery! Explore the power of engineering with hands-on activities from Austin Energy, then take flight with your own upcycled creations in our wind tunnel challenge. Race to light up a circuit block track, and dive into engineering-themed Story Times that spark big ideas for young inventors! 

Art Day — Sunday, July 27 

Celebrate creativity in motion with a full day of artistic expression! Join us for the ribbon cutting of our first Artist-in-Residence installation by Jasna Boudard at 12 pm, then make your mark with a variety of vibrant, hands-on art stations. From collaging with upcycled materials to creating sidewalk masterpieces with chalk, there’s something for every budding artist. Don’t miss our pop-ups, such as texture rubbings and Postcards from the Museum, a colorful way to capture your visit! 

Math Day — Sunday, August 3 

Discover how fun and surprisingly creative math can be! From building wild 3D shapes to slicing up pretend pizzas, Math Day is all about puzzles, patterns, and playful problem-solving. Explore geometry through hands-on shape play, dive into fractions with pizza-themed activities, and reimagine math as a world of imagination, movement, and design.
