The last forty years have proved to us that to go far you cannot go alone. That is why “with community” is at the center of Thinkery’s strategic priorities and everything that we do. Our work goes deeper than community engagement and is centered on building deep, long-lasting relationships that are mutually impactful. We are thrilled to be in relationship with organizations like, Black Mamas Village, that are bringing joyful learning resources to more communities within the Central Texas region.
Black Mamas Village is a nonprofit organization that aims to empower, connect, and support Black mothers and families in the Greater Austin area. From partnering up for Community Spotlights to the collaboration of their Back to School Bash, where 450 backpacks were given, 100 pairs of shoes were handed out, 30 haircuts or styles were provided, 30 parents received massages, and other resources were provided to students and caregivers, Thinkery has been working with Black Mamas Village in different ways to provide more families access to joyful learning experiences.
“We love the spark, we love the innovation, and we really love partnering up with Thinkery because we want to raise more awareness about STEAM education in the Black and brown community. The ability to bring community together, create spaces where you feel safe, and seeing people that look like me and can relate to me – that piece of equity is huge.
Collaborating with Thinkery allows us to have a space where we feel safe and can bring families and kids together to make relationships, connect, make friends, and make resources available to families around Central Texas.”
