We are excited to welcome Priscilla Cortez to Thinkery as our new Chief Advancement Officer (CAO)! Priscilla brings over 25 years of experience working with local and national nonprofit organizations in Public Media, Education, and the Human Service sectors. She’s excited to join Team Thinkery after several years of personal support and professional collaboration with Thinkery’s mission and work. “This is a great time of celebration and growth as Thinkery enters its 40th year of serving Central Texas. I am thrilled to be a part of this moment and to join a team of dedicated leaders and professionals whose support ensures we are able to deliver unique play-based learning experiences now and in the years to come.”
Priscilla believes in and resonates with Thinkery’s mission of leading the future of play-based STEAM learning experiences that inspire and equip all children to be confident, creative thinkers. “Looking back on my educational journey, I recognize that when it came to math and science, I was not a confident learner as a child. In part, this is what drives my passion for working for and supporting nonprofit organizations like Thinkery that create a safe and fun space for educational curiosity and wonder for ALL children.”
Thinkery has been a big part of Priscilla’s family over the years. She was a longtime member, bringing her daughter into Thinkery to further explore her curiosity and wonder. “I greatly appreciate having a trusted place and resource in Thinkery where my daughter can experience joyful learning experiences, especially in STEAM, to support her lifelong learning and success. “
What’s next for Priscilla as she settles into this new role? “I look forward to learning as much as I can as quickly as I can. There is incredible work underway, and I am eager to join in and help.” She joins Thinkery’s Advancement Team in a critical yet exciting time with the celebration of our 40 years and creation of exciting new partnerships, such as the new learning space in Del Valle that has recently broken ground.
