Don’t throw those glasses away just yet! You can bring your undamaged solar eclipse viewing glasses to the Austin Nature and Science Center, Recreation Centers, and Austin Public Library Branches through April 26th. Recycled glasses will be sent to Astronomers without Borders where they will find new life in educational and outreach initiatives in other locations around the world.
Glasses can be recycled on the day of the eclipse at the following locations: Turner-Roberts Recreation Center & Colony Park, Onion Creek Soccer Complex, Roy G. Guerrero Metropolitan Park, Gus Garcia District Park, Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park, Pickfair Pocket Park, Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, Zilker Metropolitan Park, Great Lawn, and Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center.
