Create imaginative new worlds! 

Step into a world where imagination meets engineering with Fortastic Adventure: Imagine. Design. Build!. This hands-on, interactive exhibit encourages children of all ages (and the child still inside of all of us) to discover the joy of building blanket forts and take it a step further to create a new imaginative world by using pulley systems to move chairs, sheets, and lamps. 

Fortastic Adventure will be installed across two gallery spaces for age-appropriate exploration of the design-build process. Phase one, the downstairs gallery geared towards older kids, is now open, and phase two, the upstairs gallery geared towards younger kids, will open in fall 2024.

Fortastic Adventure strongly emphasizes open-ended imaginative play, giving children the freedom to engineer their forts based on their wildest dreams. There are endless opportunities for creativity and technical exploration, from a double-sided staircase to a giant double-sized dining room table and chairs, floating lamps, pulleys, and a chair wave that spans the entire gallery. 

Designed to support the theme of blanket forts and focus on providing a space for pure imaginative play, we encourage children to build surreal and unique structures, allowing them to express their creativity fully in an open-ended environment.
