Innovators’ Workshop
Innovators’ Workshop is Thinkery’s largest gallery—and one of the first things you’ll see when you walk through our doors! It’s a world where science, technology, engineering, art, and math come to life in exciting, hands-on ways.
Here, you can explore the wonders of floating objects, tinker with circuits, build on the Simple Machine Wall, put on a smock and create colorful masterpieces on the Paint Wall, and get a little math magic from gears. Every corner is packed with possibilities to discover, create, and have fun! This gallery also features Little Thinkers’ Lab, a baby-safe area where the littlest ones can safely explore within sight of the rest of the gallery. Perfect for families with multiple ages!
Things to know and what to try:
- At Micro-Eye, put your hand under the microscope to see your skin up close! (it’s also cool with fabric, the cameras on phones, and nail polish)
- At Power of Air, compare how a paper rotocopter flies differently in the contained tube vs. The open fan (you’re experimenting with laminar vs. turbulent air flow)
- Challenge your brain by trying to write backwards on Painting with Glass.
