The Showdown Lineup
Spin Like a Cowboy: DIY Record Player – Before streaming playlists, there were spinning records! In this hands-on experience, you will build your own record player and hear the science of sound in action.
Experiment with how vibrations create sounds, test different materials, and explore how music once traveled from one town to the next – filling dance halls and homes with western tunes.
Buckaroo Launch Lab (Rodeo Physics Challenge) – Step right up! Inspired by classic rodeo carnival games, this hands-on challenge lets you use a mini “spring-a-pult” to launch objects at targets.
You will experiment with force and angles to test different trajectories to get a playful understanding of physics concepts like force, motion and energy, while cheering each other on.
Gold Rush Discovery Bin – Strike gold! Inspired by western festivals and frontier prospectors, families will sift through materials to search for hidden “gold.”
Use sifters to explore how gravity and physical forces separate materials and mixtures. Compare textures and weights through sensory exploration, just like they did in the Old West.
More surprises on the way!
