Thinkery offers free weekday admission for furloughed federal employees during the shutdown
Beginning Monday, January 21, federal employees affected by the government shutdown can visit Thinkery for free during regular weekday hours.
Austin, TX – January 18, 2019
Beginning Monday, January 21, federal employees and contractors affected by the government shutdown can enjoy free weekday general admission to Thinkery in Austin.
“Maintaining affordable access for everyone is a top priority for Thinkery,” said Thinkery CEO Patricia Young Brown. “We know the shutdown is putting a financial and emotional strain on workers and their families all over Central Texas. We hope that opening our doors to them until the shutdown ends creates an opportunity for those families to set aside those worries for a while and spend time playing and learning together.”
Free admission for furloughed employees and contractors is available during Thinkery’s normal weekday operating hours (Mon.-Fri.), which can be found online at thinkeryold.wpengine.com. This offer will remain in effect for the duration of the government shutdown and is made possible through Thinkery’s Open Door Initiative.
Furloughed employees and contractors must present a valid federal ID or badge at Thinkery’s admissions desk. Each employee or contractor may bring up to three guests per visit.
