Have you noticed something new in our Group Entry area? Now you can meet Firefly—Waymo‘s prototype autonomous vehicle—at Thinkery! This special self-driving vehicle made its debut at Thinkery in 2015, and we’re celebrating the two-year anniversary with a brand-new exhibit highlighting the car’s innovative technology.
Unveiled Friday, October 20 in a press conference, our Firefly will be one of only 30 prototypes on loan nationwide! During the press event, students and educators from Metz Elementary and Overton Elementary learned about the prototype’s design process, production and implementation—then they enjoyed and explored the museum in Guided Tours generously sponsored by Waymo.
